After arriving yesterday afternoon, Matt and our driver Vernon took us around Managua to see the sights. While walking around a fair near Lake Managua a downpour opened up on us and we hurried back to our van.
Most of the girls found it to be a welcome reprieve from the opressive heat. "I'm cold," someone said when we got back to the van. "That's probably the last time you'll say that on this trip," I said.
We went to the school today and saw where our work sites will be. We also spent a good deal of time with the children which the girls enjoyed a lot. Later we went around tovisit the garbage dumps and see the neighborhoods in which these communities live.
